Overview At AIS Israel, the following philosophy: Everyone and anyone can be an athlete, is the most important basic premise. Within the AIS school sports program, student athletes learn the values associated with discipline, performing under stress, teamwork, sacrifice, commitment, effort, accountability, citizenship, sportsmanship, confidence, and leadership. AIS realizes the important role athletics plays in a student’s life and has built a program that caters to the student athlete. Students work hard in athletics, which facilitates and coincides with their abilities academically. AIS Students have an opportunity to participate in variety of sports teams including: High School Teams are a large part of the AIS experience, with more than half of the high school student’s participating on at least one sports team. The positive characteristics an athlete can learn from being on a team are endless. At AIS, team members learn: responsibility, discipline, teamwork, etc. Teams are the window to the school showing the world what the student has learned. AIS teams represent the school at local tournaments and games in Israel and the ISST tournaments in other countries throughout Europe. | Fall Season: Soccer and Volleyball | (end of August – beginning of November) | | Winter Season: Basketball, and Swimming | (beginning of November – beginning of March) | | Spring Season: Softball, Baseball, and Tennis | (beginning of March – middle of May) | * Students who are 13 years old or older by September 1st of the school year may also participate on these teams under the coaches discretion.
