PETER OSTRIN
Peter Ostrin
moved to Israel, from Silicon Valley with his wife Joanne and two children in
June 2000. He was born in South
Africa and currently holds American and
Israeli citizenship. Gilad, their oldest child,
is currently in 10th grade and has been at AIS for the last five
years.
Peter holds a MS in computer
science from Rice University in Houston,
Texas, where he also completed
his BS in math and computer science. He moved to Israel to open the Israel Research and Development Center for Silicon Graphics, a large
computer company specializing in high end graphics supercomputers. Last
year he formed GraphTech Computer Systems, a
high-tech company specializing in advanced 3D graphics software, where he is
currently the CEO. In all his previous work experience building teams and
hiring the best, education has been a key factor. Peter looks forward to the
opportunity to serve the AIS community.
School Board Participation
Peter is Board Treasurer and is currently
serving on the Development, Building, Finance and Negotiating Board Sub-Committees.
He believes strongly in AIS and the excellent opportunities it offers our
children. He believes that the technology roadmap will be the key in preparing
our children for the world they will face outside AIS. As a father of a
child who suffers from dyslexia and dysgraphia, he is
interested in ensuring the continued excellence of the AIS resource
center. Peter would like to play a part in ensuring all three AIS schools
continue to provide an excellent education.
