Rebecca Peterson has lived in Jerusalem for the past two years.  Her family moved here for her husband, Eric Peterson, to work as the Information Systems Officer at the American Consulate in Jerusalem.  They have four children.  Three of them attend school at JAIS.  They are in grades 5, 3, and 1.  The youngest just turned 1 year old.  Jerusalem is their third overseas assignment.

Rebecca has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in General Studies and is currently finishing work on a Master’s of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology.  Though she has been a stay-at-home mom since her first child was born, she has been actively involved in the schools her children have attended.  She served for two years on the school board at the American International School in Niger.  There she was also a substitute teacher and spent a year working as a classroom aide.

Rebecca believes the support of families and communities is an integral part of creating a positive and successful learning environment for everyone.  She would like to help JAIS develop into a strong academic environment which will provide a solid educational foundation for our children as they progress towards becoming life-long learners.
