Territorial Disputes

Joy

Hey guys. My name is Joy Ma and I'll be chairing the Territorial Disputes committee for this year's TIMEMUN Conference. I am originally from Korea but have lived abroad for the majority of my life including 3 years in the United States and 6 and a half years in Israel. I’ve been involved in MUN for the past 2 years (this is my 3rd year) and have participated in 4 conferences including 2 TIMEMUN conferences and 2 overseas conferences in Paris. While representing China in the Human Rights Commitee in Paris last month, I received an Honorable mention award.IN addition, last year, taking part in the Territorial Disputes Committee, I received another Honoralbe Mention Award representing as the delegate of Turkey. I think the reason that I've succeeded in receiving such an award was because i was really passionate about being in the committee itself and thus, actively and willingly participated throughout the conference. HAving to have especially enjoyed my experience in Territorial Disputes, when applying for my chair position and committee, Territorial Disputes was my number one preference. As you can imagine, I'm extremely happy to have received the position and to get a chance to act as one of your chairs for this upcoming TIMEMUN 2010 Conference.

Besides MUN, I have participated in a lot of extracurricular activities such as Student Council, sports teams including volleyball, basketball, and softball, French & Spanish club, Language honor society, and several musical/instrumental groups. I enjoy staying active all the time and by participating in such programs, I learned how to work as a team which I will be using to help me when I’m chairing the committee.

In any case, I’m really looking forward to meeting you all. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email, u11jma@wbais.org or u11jma@gmail.com

Thanks 

Joy.
